Gift or Ability?

spirit moves

So many times people have told me I have a gift when it comes to all things psychic and in connecting to Spirit. I have never seen it as such. I have always believed what I have is an ability. The gift is what it provides the recipient.

I have an ability. I understand the nature of energy and am able to interpret subtle vibrational shifts in its pattern as well as interpret the vibrational data offered by Spirit. People claim it is a gift because they believe I am doing something that they cannot. Applying this over a broader spectrum it appears an automobile mechanic has a gift because he can fix my vehicle where I cannot. It is an ability that is honed by practice, passion and commitment.

The gift is specifically meant for the receiver. To see hearts lighten, guilt dissolved and love flowing freely amid the pain and despair of loss is indeed very powerful. Lives are transformed by messages from Spirit and that, at least in my estimation, is a formidable gift that frees one from imagined chains and encourages people to live joyfully in spite of what they feel they have lost. What a gift that is!

Spirit connection happens. It can happen to all of us with or without the benefit of a medium. It is not the medium that is the gift. The medium is merely the conduit by which the gift travels. The medium is a mechanism that, with the cooperation of Spirit, can offer the most incredible gift of all—healing—and the encouragement to live.

The Passing of an Icon – Sylvia Browne

sylvia browne

Sylvia Browne, world-renowned Psychic Medium passed away, November 20, 2013 at 7:10am in California.

There is so much I want to say– nothing sugary but how I feel in raw, unbleached honesty. I will miss her.

Firstly, I want to thank Sylvia for being the trail blazer, the pioneer, the first to carry the proverbial torch in the arena of psychic ability and mediumship. You have made your mark on the world and in all of our hearts. Some hearts stir in awe of you while many stir to judgment.

You were the first psychic medium I ever laid eyes upon that gave me permission to acknowledge the ability within myself. For that, I truly thank you. I know I am not alone. You opened many hearts and minds along the way in this regard. Equally, you shut and bolted hearts that were not appreciative of your brash manner or your ‘misses’ when it came to answers that many claim destroyed people. Either way, people listened and made up their minds.

You were not my favourite in this field of work but I also know you didn’t aspire to be. You were you. Unabashedly you. You lived and worked and experienced with such passion that no one could deny its authenticity. You understood that no one had to agree with you and some surely didn’t. You unapologetically kept going with a zeal that fueled your heart and soul. There are not many on this planet that could ever display this kind of pure passion although I am sure they would like to think so.

There are some who will uphold their piousness until the day they die in regard to your ability or lack thereof; your honesty or lack thereof; your manipulative skills–if that is what they indeed were, and your artful scam tactics that allegedly were perpetrated on an unsuspecting grieving public–if that is what you were in fact doing. There will always be nay-sayers. You always knew that. Even in your passing there are chants occurring around the world as if the planet has been rid of a demon. You knew that would happen as well. Not because you were psychic but because you had to face this particular kind of mentality every step of the way. You were quite familiar with human nature—human nature that tends to fear and ridicule what it does not understand.

Thank you, Sylvia. For the opportunity to measure my steps on my journey; to insist on integrity with each of them; to maintain my passion in the face of opposition; and to live being of service to my last breath. There was so much of you that was absolutely amazing and I sincerely hope it will supersede all that wasn’t. I suppose it is the same for all of us. We are all phenomenal and yet at times our magnificence is overshadowed by other things. All I can say is that I hope we are all remembered for our beauty and our service and not only remembered for the worst thing we have ever done.

You are now on your next extraordinary adventure. I wish you well. Now that the torch has officially been passed to other lightworkers it is up to those remaining here to step boldly and mindfully on their path; to stand a little straighter; understand a little more, and above all, know with certainty and gratitude that a pioneering spirit went before them. You taught us all what we can expect and it is up to us as to how we handle it.

You will remain an icon to so many. Thank you for your courage in a world full of both lackluster passivity and vehement opposition. You forged a trail and not many of even the loudest protestors can admit to doing anything so grand.

Sylvia. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
