It amazes me.  Truly amazes me.  I heard a child the other day discriminate someone because of their skin colour.  It didn’t stop there.  Words like ‘idiot’, ‘crazy’, ‘dumb’ and many more descriptive words followed.  It was evident this child didn’t have a clue ‘why’ she felt it necessary to talk like this.  It was starkly evident that she has heard adults around her talk like this.  If this child was discriminating against black skin, brown skin, red skin, yellow skin, plaid skin, paisley skin we would all be aghast.  We would all be outraged.  The skin colour in question…was orange.  We are cultivating and nurturing our next generation.  Do we really want to raise our next generation the same way, to the same experiences and to the same end?  It’s time.  It is time to stop noticing the differences.  It is time to stop pretending we embrace the differences.  It is time to start seeing BEYOND the differences and embrace every creature that breathes with reverence.  It all starts with us.  The words we speak have a resounding impact.  The words we speak can be dangerous daggers or beautiful blessings.  Choose wisely.  Our children are listening, growing and learning from our example. ~ International Medium & Spiritual Teacher
