Fresh Start

ara-fresh-start

We seem to be mid-point within the holiday season and our attention is turning toward bidding farewell to 2016 and welcoming 2017.  For some 2016 has been turbulent and despairing, fraught with loss and disappointments while others have realized amazing achievements and joy.  It has been, like any other year before it, a year of potential possibilities that we may have managed to notice and act upon and others, not.  We now look toward 2017 with a renewed hope and a determination to ensure this coming year is far better than the last one. We make promises to ourselves which may or may not be kept; we dream; we wish and we hope.

A brand new slate of ‘time’ is creeping into our reality.  It stands off in the distance, beckoning, shining and promising better times.  It always entices me until I remind myself that ‘time’ is irrelevant.  It is a needful thing in our day-to-day lives and keeps us on track and hopefully punctual.  It is not our master.

The magic of New Year’s Eve gives us the awareness that a sense of newness is being framed into our reality.  The turn of the calendar to January 1st allows us to look down the proverbial road ahead and hope for better days, weeks and months.  It is helpful to know we do not need a calendar to tell us when to stop fretting and despairing and become wistful once again.  We have that option open to us in each and every moment.  ‘Time’, be it the time of day or a calendar year does not determine who we might become, what we will do or whether we will be happy.  We do.  The choice lays within each moment we breathe.  Therefore each moment, in essence, is like a New Year’s Eve.  The same options, the same possibilities, the choices that we may make are all right Now.  No need to wait 365 days to make your wishes, fulfill your dreams or restore your hope.  Your fresh start is right here, right now.  Why wait for the tip of the calendar.  Make all your moments a sheer celebration filled with hope, determination, faith and joy.  ~ Ara Parisien, International Medium & Spiritual Teacher

Distractions

test

Just for today…remind yourself that some distractions are entirely of benefit while others are not. Allowing external circumstances to frustrate you pulls you away from your wishes, hopes and dreams. When you feel the desire to judge yourself or others, when you feel frustration building or resentments mounting it is time to distract yourself with something that makes you feel good. There is absolutely nothing more important than feeling good. Feeling good keeps you in alignment with where you ultimately want to go and what you want. Make it your focus for the day.

Complaining

Just for today…don’t complain—about anything or anyone—even if you feel justified. No amount of rightness is going to raise the level of negative energy that complaining initiates. Complaining puts the judged in charge of your wishes, hopes and dreams, which I suspect is not what you want. You are in charge of your own vibration. Own it. Choose the vibration that will consistently keep you moving closer to your dreams no matter who is doing what–or not–around you. You have the power to do this because you ARE the power. Use it, live it, be it.

Dreams

Dreams are not mystical nor are they the by-product of something you ate before you went to bed. Dreams are a very powerful and profound tool that help us understand what we are holding within. Dreams also give us a totally safe environment in order to ‘live’ certain dynamics as well as allow us to see the results of them. All this is done without consequence, not like it is in our awake world.

What happens when we dream? Firstly, the vibration that you hold is the indicator of what needs to be addressed in dream state. When we fall asleep, our waking, conscious mind is closed and our sub-conscious is wide open. I like to say the sub-conscious mind holds the filing cabinet of everything we have ever experienced with our five senses in waking state. The sub-conscious mind, according to our vibration rifles through the filing cabinet and tosses specific symbols from the files into our dream state. These symbols are geared to helping us learn and understand what is going on in us on much deeper levels. A dream is born.

The dream, if remembered, and interpreted appropriately, will shed an immense amount of light on what we are currently experiencing or consistently holding within our vibrational field. Often what we are holding onto isn’t of benefit so generally most dreams will help point you in the right direction as to what requires your healing and loving attention.

If you are a person that never seems to remember your dreams you are really missing out! It is possible to program your mind to start remembering. The process is powerful and I can attest to the fact that many of my clients who expressed difficulty in this regard noticed a marked improvement within days. The process is simply this. As you lay comfortably in your bed, eyes closed, repeat in your mind “I want to remember my dreams,” over and over again until you fall asleep. That’s it! Do this every night and you will notice that you begin to wake up with snippets of dreams and shortly thereafter will be remembering them just as well as anyone else.

For those of you who already have total recall upon awakening a dream journal is a must! Keep a daily journal of your dreams as, over time, you will begin to see a common thread woven throughout them. If you are unsure of the interpretation on a daily basis, this common thread will go a long way in pointing the way for you.

Dream interpretation is easily done once you have access to the generic dream symbols and their meanings. There are dream dictionaries on the market for your use but I would caution that most may contain ‘doom and gloom’ type explanations for rather innocuous symbols. Be careful to which dream book you refer. If one doesn’t feel good to you keep trying. Do not buy into the fear.

Remember that a dream dictionary is simply a tool that does not supersede the emotional value of the dreamer during the dream. You are the best interpreter of your dream. A dream dictionary will simply give you a frame of reference with which to work.

If you have a dream that confounds you please let me know. Perhaps I can offer a few points that will help you interpret it!

Dreams! They are as wonderful and as fascinating as the dreamer.
